Their ultimate goal is to outwit, outplay and outlast. The long-standing reality TV series follows tribes of contestants that live on remote islands, compete in challenges and vote each other off of the show. The rest of the popular franchise includes Australian Survivor, Survivor South Africa and Survivor New Zealand. Jeff Probst has hosted every season of Survivor and also serves an executive producer alongside Mark Burnett and Parsons. However, the American version of Survivor first aired on May 31, 2000.
The reality TV show stems from the Swedish television series, Expedition Robinson, which premiered in 1997 and was created by Charlie Parsons.
